Then, we visit the Orsay Museum by the Seine River and the Notre Dame Cathedral. It is the left side of the Seine River where we can find a local life.

Trocadéro station

①Chaillot Palace

★Go to Eiffel Tower. It takes 15 minutes by walk.

②Eiffel Tower

★Go to Champ de Mars Avenue by the end and turn left. Then, turn right at the first crossroad to go to Tourville Avenue. You’ll find the next destination on the left hand. It takes 20 minutes by walk.

③The Invalides

★Go out the Invalides from the north exit while Maréchal Gallieni as far as Alexandre III Bridge. Then, turn right and walk beside Seine River. It takes 15 minutes.

④Bourbon Palace

★Continue to walk on the street for 10 minutes.

⑤Orsay Museum

★You’ll visit Saint Germain des Prés area now. Go to Bac St and turn left to go to Saint-Germain Boulevard. It takes 15 minutes.

⑥Saint Germain des Prés Church

★Go to Saint Pères St in front of the church and turn right. You’ll find a bridge for walkers. It takes 10 minutes.

⑦Art Bridge

★After the bridge, turn right and walk beside the Seine River. While looking at the book shops named “les bouquinistes”, pass the next bridge. It takes 10 minutes by walk.

⑧Neuf Bridge

★Go to Orfèvres St beside the river and turn left. It takes 5 minutes.

⑨Sainte Chapelle

★Go to Lutèce St near the chapel and turn right at the end.

⑩Notre Dame Cathedral

★Go back to Lutèce St to take a subway.

It is also a popular photo spot where you can see the Eiffel Tower from the front. Beyond the building are the Jardins du Trocadéro, just before the Eiffel Tower. The Palais Chaillot itself was built for the Paris World’s Fair and is currently used as the following three museums, so if you have time, we recommend visiting.

This 320.75m iron tower is one of Paris’s most iconic tourist spots. The name comes from Gustave Eiffel, who directed the construction of the tower. The entrance to this tower, which is magically illuminated at night, is located on one of the four pillars. As it is a popular spot, you can get in easily by visiting first thing in the morning or by making a reservation online in advance. This building combines a church known for containing Napoleon’s tomb and a military museum, the Musée de l’Armée. Napoleon’s Tomb is a huge stone monument inside a domed church. The military museum is filled with exhibits from the time of Louis XIV to Napoleon, World War II, and Charles de Gaulle.

This church is located in an area that is popular among locals as a fashionable area lined with famous cafes. It is a Romanesque style church with a distinctive blue pointed roof spire. Unlike the white exterior, the interior is full of colors from the pillars to the ceiling, and it is so beautiful that time flies when you take a closer look.


★Go to Saint Pères St in front of the church and turn right. You’ll find a bridge for walkers. It takes 10 minutes.

A pedestrian bridge over the Seine River. From the bridge, you can see the Île de la Cité in the Seine River and the Louvre Museum on the opposite bank. It was once popular to attach padlocks to the mesh of bridge railings as a sign of love, but this is now prohibited as the weight of the padlocks caused the railings to fall into the river.


★After the bridge, turn right and walk beside the Seine River. While looking at the book shops named “les bouquinistes”, pass the next bridge. It takes 10 minutes by walk.


⑧Neuf Bridge

A stone bridge that spans Ile de la Cité. The literal translation is “New Bridge”, but it is one of the oldest bridges in Paris. A bronze statue of Henry IV stands in the square where you land on the island.

A Gothic church on the Ile de la Cité. You can’t tell from the outside that there is a church there, but as you walk down the street, you can easily see the line. The main attraction of this church, completed in 1248, is the stained glass, which is well worth a visit.

⑩Notre Dame Cathedral

It is one of the bridges spanning the Seine River, and railway line 6 runs overhead. From here you can see the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River together. We recommend using this as your starting point instead of Chaillot Palace and walking along the Seine River towards the Eiffel Tower. Alternatively, we recommend taking the Line 6 train and looking at it from the train window.

⑫Luxembourg Garden

This park is home to a palace used by the Senate, and is a place of relaxation for locals. The site is spacious and is a recommended place when you want to take a break. You can get there by going straight in the opposite direction along the road after the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church.
