It is the capital in France. Because there are so many sightseeing spots, we made 3 tour routes. In this route, we begin the sightseeing at the Arc de Triomphe. Then, we walk on the Champs-Elysées Avenue to go to the Louvre Museum. The route is simple but there many sites on the way.

★To visit the Arc de Triomphe, it is necessary to go down the stairs.

One of Paris’s most emblematic tourist attractions, it was completed in 1836 on the orders of Napoleon. Although it is called a gate, you can enter the middle part, and there are exhibits and souvenir shops inside, and if you go to the rooftop, you can see a panoramic view of Paris, including the Champs-Elysées. It is also called Etoile (Star) because the many street intersections look like shining stars. Once you go underground, there is always a long line to buy same-day tickets, but if you use the Paris Museum Pass (PMP), which is an admission pass to major tourist attractions in Paris, you can skip the line and get in right away.

②Champs Elysées

It is the most famous street in France, running from the front of the Arc de Triomphe. The street is lined with brand-name stores such as Louis Vuitton and Dior, as well as Laduree, famous for its macarons. During Christmas time, a Christmas market is held on the street.

It is a building with a distinctive domed roof that was built during the Paris World’s Fair, and is currently open for tours when special exhibitions are held. It was also recently used in the movie “Fantastic Beasts”. You can save money by purchasing tickets online.

Like the Grand Palais, this palace was built during the Paris Universal Exposition. Currently, the permanent exhibition is open to the public for free, but there are so many things to see that it’s hard to believe it’s free. The courtyard surrounding the building is also a highlight.

⑤Concorde Square

This square is located at the end of the Champs Elysées and is home to an obelisk gifted from Egypt. The guillotine was placed here during the French Revolution, and many nobles were executed here. In winter, a large Ferris wheel is installed here.

The gardens beyond Place de la Concorde lead to the Louvre Museum. It was designed by the same people who designed Versailles. ⑧Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel

This is a small Arc de Triomphe at the edge of the Tuileries Gardens. It was also built for Napoleon. The three Arc de Triomphes are connected by a straight line: the Arc de Triomphe, the Arc de Triomphe of the Carrousel, and the new Arc de Triomphe, La Défense, located far beyond the Arc de Triomphe.

It is the most famous museum in Paris. Three buildings surround the glass pyramid: Sully, Denon, and Richelieu. The pyramid is the entrance, but the entrance under the arcade on the right side is relatively empty. Famous works include the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Victory of Samothrace, but there are also many other works on display that you may have seen in history textbooks. In addition to works of art, there are a variety of other exhibits on display, including Egyptian mummies, Moai statues, and a reproduction of Napoleon’s mansion, so much so that you won’t be able to see them all in one day. It’s best to pick out the works you want to see beforehand, or if you have time, split your visit into several parts. Also, admission may be restricted depending on the season, so it is best to purchase tickets in advance online.
