How to Spend a Perfect Day in London with Itinerary Map (Buckingham Palace – National Gallery)

Buckingham Palace

London

London is the capital of the United Kingdom and England. It is a global metropolis where modern and ancient buildings coexist. There are so many sights to see, such as the British Museum, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben, that it is impossible to see everything in one day, so we will introduce several different courses. Here we will introduce a course (② on the map below) that goes to the National Gallery after visiting Buckingham Palace. Please note that viewing of Buckingham Palace is only available in the summer, so be careful about the time of your visit.

This monument is located in the square in front of Buckingham Palace and was made for Queen Victoria in 1911. It is currently closed, but the Changing of the Guard that takes place here is famous and is definitely worth a visit. It is held every day from April to the end of July and every other day from August to March. The procession from the barracks to the palace starts at 10:30 and the changing of the guard at the palace starts at 11:00 and lasts for about 30 minutes. We recommend waiting in front of the palace at 10:30 to secure a spot. Please check the schedule on the following website as the time may change.

Opening hour: 10 am – 6 pm on weekend from July to September

Close: from Ocotber to June

It is the official palace of the British Royal Family, originally built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham as his own residence, and after renovations, became a royal palace when Queen Victoria moved in. Public tours of the interior are only available during the summer, and currently the palace can only be toured on weekends (the gardens can also be toured on weekdays). Photography is prohibited inside. The tour begins with the reception where guests actually come for parties, and proceeds through each room on the second floor. The contents vary from year to year, but when I visited, there was an exhibition of the costumes worn by Queen Elizabeth, including a diamond-studded wedding dress. The tour ends with a tour of the gardens. Reservations are required for tours, and since they are only held on weekends now, they sell out quickly, so please make a reservation as soon as possible on the website below.
