②Tower of Pisa

Time required: 40 min
Admission fee: 20 euros
(Combined ticket with the cathedral. Set with all admission tickets is 27 euros)
Opening hour: 9 am – 10 pm
Close: No
This 55.86m tall tower was completed in the 14th century and is world famous for its inclination due to subsidence. The inclination of the tower started during construction, and as a result it was built lower than originally planned. The number of people allowed to visit the tower is limited by time, so you can visit smoothly by purchasing tickets online in advance. Tickets can be purchased on the day, but there is a high possibility that they will be several hours away. The inside of the tower has a spiral staircase, and since it is inclined, it can be difficult to maintain your balance when climbing up. From the top, you can see the Duomo and the distant Tuscan mountains. If you have time before your ticket time, it is recommended that you go to see something else first.

The lower part of the exterior is in Romanesque style and the upper part is in Gothic style, so you can see the transition in style. Inside, there is a large baptismal font in the center, surrounded by columns. You can also go up to the second floor, although there is a limit on the number of people.
