Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, has many tourist attractions. This site introduces four model courses that can be completed in half a day, so please choose the combination that suits you best for the morning and afternoon. Here we will introduce the route (① on the map below) that goes around the classic spots, including the Skytree in central Auckland.

【Start】①Sky Tower
★Route Time required: 5 minutes
From the intersection in front of the Sky Tower, go straight with Denny’s on your left ⇒ Turn right at the first traffic light ⇒ You will see the church
★Route Time required: 15 minutes
Return to the Sky Tower via the same road ⇒ Continue straight and turn left at the first intersection ⇒ Go down the hill ⇒ Follow the street to the right of the ochre building (The Civic) on your right and you will come out into the square.

From the square, turn left onto Queen Street, the town’s main street, and go down the hill ⇒ Turn right at the first intersection ⇒ Go up the hill and you will see the museum on your left

Exit the museum and turn right ⇒ Go up the stairs next to the building to reach the park

Turn left after leaving the park ⇒ Turn right when you reach Queens Street ⇒ Turn left when you reach the sea at the end ⇒ You will see a white pedestrian bridge

Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the park.

Go straight along the street between the park and the night market ⇒ You will see the park at the end

①Sky Tower★

It is a 328m-tall tower that rises in the center of the city. Not only can you get a panoramic view of the city from the observation deck 186m above ground, but you can also enjoy activities such as walking on the outside or hanging from it.
Below the tower is Sky City, a complex containing hotels, restaurants, a casino, and more, as well as a terminal for shuttle buses from the airport and long-distance buses to other towns. The entrance to the tower is inside Sky City.
The Macau Tower was created after a wealthy Macau citizen saw the tower and was impressed by it.

②Cathedral of St Patrick & St Joseph◎

Located in the middle of a city of buildings, this church was originally a wooden church but was remodeled into the current stone church in the early 20th century. The exterior of this church, built in the Gothic Revival style of England, is calm white, unlike the gray stone churches of other churches in Auckland, and the interior has a calm atmosphere with a wooden ceiling.

Return to the Sky Tower via the same road ⇒ Continue straight and turn left at the first intersection ⇒ Go down the hill ⇒ Follow the street to the right of the ochre building (The Civic) on your right and you will come out into the square.
③Aotea Square

This square is located behind the Civic theater and faces the city hall. It is filled with various art pieces and has an ice rink in the winter.

④Auckland Art Gallery★

This is a museum that mainly exhibits New Zealand art. Special exhibitions are also held, all of which are free to view.
The museum mainly exhibits works from the 11th century to the present day, and the portraits of the Maori people, the indigenous people of New Zealand, with their facial tattoos are unique and must-see.

⑤Albert Park◎

This park is a place of relaxation for locals. It has a fountain, a flower clock.

⑥Wynyard Crossing◎

This is a bridge in the Wynyard area, a port. It is a small pedestrian bridge that can be raised as a movable bridge when ships pass through.

Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the park.
⑦Silo Park

Time required: 10 min
Admission fee: 0 NZD
This is a park in an industrial area. The playground equipment is designed with a factory theme. Every Saturday from 4 pm, a night market is held right next to the park, with stalls selling mainly Asian cuisine.

Continuing past Silo Park you’ll see the famous Harbour Bridge.

⑧Victoria Park

Victoria Park

The park has a large grassy area about the size of a soccer field and is primarily used for sports.
