③Beauregard Castle

Château de Beauregard
Time required: 40 min
This castle was built in the 15th century. It changed hands many times, including being confiscated by Louis XII, but it was finally settled when Louis XIII’s minister acquired it. It has a scale and interior that is more like a mansion than a luxurious aristocratic residence, giving a sense of life. Proceeding to the second floor, there is a room with portraits plastered all over the walls and 5,600 lapis lazuli tiles on the floor. The portraits depict a number of historically famous figures, including the French kings who appeared in quizzes along the way. Portrait photo contests are also held depending on the season.

★Walk in the garden with another route to return to the bus stop. It takes 20 minutes.
