【Start】①Montpellier Saint-Roch Station
★Go to Maguelone St in front of the station for 10 minutes.
②Comedy Square★Enter the center street by Loge St and turn left at the fist crossroad. Go down Jean Moulin St and turn right at a small square to go to Rouan St. Go straight for a while. It takes 10 minutes by walk.
③Saint Roch Church★Go to Voltaire St beside the church and turn left at the dead end. Then, turn right at the end to go to Saint-Guilhem. When you arrive at a Martyrs de la Résistance Square, turn left and go to Foch St. It takes 15 minutes.
④Arc de Triomphe⑤Esplanade of Pêyrou
★Leave the esplanade and turn left. When you pass Canourgue Square, go down Saint-Pierre St. It takes 10 minutes.
⑥Saint-Pierre Cathedral★Go to Candolle St and turn right at the dead end. When you return to Martyrs de la Résistance Square, turn left to go to Foch St. Then, turn left at the dead end and turn right immediately to go to Glaize St. It takes 20 minutes.
⑦Fabre Museum★Turn right on the street in front of the museum. Turn right at the first corner and the museum will be on the left side of the road you just passed.
⑧Art Decoration Museum of Sabatier Espeyran★When you leave the museum, turn right. As you return at Comedy Square, go back to the station with the same route. It takes 15 minutes.

It is a square lined with restaurants and an opera house modeled after the Opéra Garnier in Paris. In the center is a fountain with statues of the Three Graces.

This church is located in a suddenly open area in the old town. Stained glass in warm colors creates a warm atmosphere. Behind the altar is a stained glass window with church motifs.

This Arc de Triomphe was built in the 17th century to show loyalty to Louis XIV. Behind it is a promenade with a large plaza, and further on is a waterway.
⑤Esplanade of Pêyrou◎

This is the promenade after passing through the Arc de Triomphe. There are many people eating lunch here on sunny days.
★Leave the esplanade and turn left. When you pass Canourgue Square, go down Saint-Pierre St. It takes 10 minutes.

It is a Gothic church with a distinctive façade and a porch with two spires. The interior is very simple, but you can feel the solemn atmosphere. Adjacent to it is the University of Montpellier, which is said to be France’s oldest medical school and was home to Nostradamus and the writer Rabelais.

This museum is centered around the neoclassical Francois-Xavier Fabre collection. The main focus is on French paintings, and you can also see works by Impressionists such as Monet. The main attraction is Rubens’ “La Rencontre”.

This is an art museum located right next to the art museum. The first floor is mainly decorated with aristocratic furniture, but when you go up to the second floor, you will find a number of rooms that are replicas of the mansion’s interior.
