★Go to Port Villiers St from the square and turn left at the end. It takes 5 minutes.

★Continue to walk on the street and pass a bridge. It takes 5 minutes.

★Pass the same bridge again and go to Pont St. turn right at the first crossroad.

★Go to Fèvres St in front of the cathedral as far as Theatre Square.

This is an art museum located on the square in front of City Hall. It exhibits a wide range of items from a variety of genres, from archaeology-related items such as Egypt, to paintings and prints from the 16th century onwards.

This church was built around the beginning of the 18th century. The exterior is Italian style with its two symmetrical bell towers, but the interior is Baroque style with a vaulted ceiling in the center. The exterior is relatively new as it was renovated in 1900.

This museum is named after Nicéphore Niépce, a native of this town. He was the world’s first inventor to successfully develop photographs, and received a patent from Napoleon for inventing the world’s first internally fueled engine to sail up the Saône River. This museum mainly exhibits about photography and camera equipment. You can see various types of cameras, from large ones from ancient times to toy cameras.

The cathedral is located in a corner of the old town square lined with half-timbered houses. Construction in its current form spanned the 12th to 16th centuries, resulting in a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles. As you enter from the front, which has two symmetrical bell towers, you will be enveloped in a simple yet solemn atmosphere. On the walls are tapestries brought from Brussels, Belgium, in the 16th century.

This is a trompe l’oeil painting in the plaza in front of the theater. It depicts a mother and child climbing a staircase towards a Molière sculpture. It was painted in 1991 and is also painted on the walls of other buildings in the square.
