It’s one of Lérins islands where we can visit from Cannes. The Cistercians owns this island and monks live in the abbey. That’s why, there are some chapels and vineyards in the island. In addition, we can see this island and the sea from the top of the fortress.

★You take a ferry from Cannes to visit this island. You can find the ferry terminal in the page of Cannes. Although it is possible to visit from Nice, it takes a long time and if you leave from Cannes, you can also visit this resort city.

②Saint-Sauveur Chapel★Continue to go straight on the route. It takes 10 minutes.
③Saint-Caprais Chapel★Continue to walk on the circumference of the island. It takes 15 minutes.
④Saint-Pierre Chapel★You find a path of coconut trees after the chapel. Go to the path.
⑤Lérins Abbey★When you go out from the abbey, turn left. Go to the path beside the sea. It takes 5 minutes.
⑥Saint Honorat Fortress★Continue to walk on the circumference of the island. It takes 10 minutes.
⑦Trinity Chapel★Continue to walk on the circumference of the island as far as the ferry terminal. It takes 10 minutes.

②Saint-Sauveur Chapel
Chapelle Saint-Sauveur
Time required: 5 min
Admission fee: 0 euro
It is an octagonal chapel with a radius of 8m. Originally used for funerals on the island in the 5th century, it was rebuilt in the 12th century and took on its current form.
★Continue to go straight on the route. It takes 10 minutes.
③Saint-Caprais Chapel

This is a chapel whose walls were replaced during renovation work in 1993. Saint-Caplet is said to have been Saint-Honorat’s companion and lived as a hermit.

④Saint-Pierre Chapel

This is a chapel on the side of the monastery that was renovated in 1963. A statue is erected nearby, surrounded by a fence. There are four tombs inside, where holy relics are kept.

⑤Lérins Abbey

This is the main monastery on Saint Honorat Island. Although it currently functions as a monastery, it is only possible to tour the interior of the monastery during times such as mass. Instead, you can go to a retailer of wine made on the island.
★When you go out from the abbey, turn left. Go to the path beside the sea. It takes 5 minutes.
⑥Saint Honorat Fortress

It is a fortress that was completed several centuries later in the 16th century. It consists of two towers that act as watchtowers to protect against foreign enemies. The interior is now in ruins, but you can climb to the top and get a good view of the island and the nearby monastery.

⑦Trinity Chapel

This is a chapel on the eastern end of the island. Although it is a stone building, there are parts that are rectangular and parts that are made up of columns. It is believed that these were made in different eras, but the details are not yet known.
