★Take a subway of the line B and get off at Vieux Lyon. Then, take a funicular and get off at Fourivière.

②Notre Dame Basilic

★Go to Roger Radisson St in front of the basilic for 5 minutes.

③Gallo Romain Theatre

★Go through the theatre and turn right when you leave. Then, take a funicular at Minimes Théâtre Romains to go down the hill to Vieux Lyon station. When you arrive at Vieux Lyon station, turn left.

④Saint-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral

★Go to Saint-Jean St for 5 minutes. There are many restaurant and souvenirs shops because it’s the old area.

⑤Miniature and Cinema Museum

★Continue to walk on the street and open the door of 54 Saint-Jean Street.

⑥Traboule

★Continue to go to the street and turn left at the first crossroad. Then, turn right at the dead end. It takes 5 minutes.

⑦Gadagne Museum

★Continue to walk on the street and turn right at the end. Then, turn left at a square. When you arrive at the train station, turn right. 【Start】

①Bellecour Square

This is the largest square in Lyon, where the tourist information center is located. At the southwest end of the square is a bronze statue of the Little Prince.

If you arrive in Lyon by train, you get off at Part-Dieu station. To go to Bellecour Square,

①Take a subway of the line B and change the subway to the line A at Charpennes.

②Take a subway of the line B and change the subway to the line D at Saxe-Gambetta.

★Take a subway of the line B and get off at Vieux Lyon. Then, take a funicular and get off at Fourivière.


②Notre Dame Basilic

This cathedral is built on top of Fourvière Hill. There is a golden statue of Mary on the roof of the chapel, as the Virgin Mary once saved the city from the plague. You can also enjoy a panoramic view of Lyon from the top of the hill.

③Gallo Romain Theatre

This cathedral is located at the entrance to the old town. Henry IV and the Queen of Italy were married here.

This museum displays movie props such as the wand from Harry Potter and chocolate from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Lyon is famous for being the birthplace of cinema, so there is a museum like this there. A set recreating each scene from the movie “Parfum” is also on display. In the second half, miniature interiors similar to Sylvania are on display.

A traboule is a narrow passage unique to Lyon, and there are many such passages in this old town. Originally used by silk weavers, it was used by the Resistance as escape equipment during World War II. The old town, including Traboules, is registered as a World Heritage Site.

This is a museum in a traditional building located in the old town. It consists of two parts: the Lyon Folklore Museum and the Lyon-originated puppet theater “Guignol” museum.


★Continue to walk on the street and turn right at the end. Then, turn left at a square. When you arrive at the train station, turn right. When you arrive at a bridge, turn left and pass another pedestrian bridge. When you pass the bridge, go to the back of the building in front of you. It takes 10 minutes.

A huge painting on the wall of the building depicts people associated with Lyon, such as “The Little Prince.” There are trompe l’oeil paintings like this in various parts of Lyon. It’s not on the river side, so you have to go around to find it, so be careful.

The fountain in the square is called the Bartholdi Fountain, and the four horses represent the four major rivers of France. The story goes that Bordeaux once ordered it but was unable to buy it due to a lack of funds, so Lyon bought it instead.
