This cathedral features a distinctive triangular roof and a large stained glass window can be seen from the outside at the front. It was built to replace the cathedral that collapsed in the 2011 earthquake, and architect Shigeru Ban made it famous as a church made from cardboard.
When you go inside, you can see the roof structure made from cardboard, and if you look closely you will see that the chairs and altar are also made from cardboard.

The number of victims of this earthquake reached 185, and since the second largest number of victims were Japanese, after New Zealanders, a thousand paper cranes are displayed inside the church. Previously, white chairs were placed on the grounds next to the church, one for each victim, but they have now been removed.

You can see paintings, antiques, furniture, etc. that match the atmosphere of her home, which has been recreated. There are only four exhibition rooms, but the diverse genres of artwork on display give it a different feel from a museum.
