It’s a town on the banks of the Loire river. There is a center street beside a castle on a hill. Leonardo Da Vinci was invited in this town and passed his last years here. There is his castle on the east of the town and it’s open as his museum. We can discover his inventions.

①Amboise Station

★Go to Jules Ferry St in front of the station. When you arrive at Loire river, turn left and pass a bridge. When you finish to pass, turn right. It takes 20 minutes by walk.

②St-Florentin Church

★Go to François 1st St in front of the church and turn right at the first crossroad.

③Clock Tower

★Go back to the street and go up a path of the castle on the left hand.

④Saint-Hubert Chapel

⑤Royal Castle of Amboise

★When you leave the castle, turn left and go to Victor Hugo St for 15 minutes.

⑥Clos Lucé Castle

★Return to the station with the same route. It takes 35 minutes by walk.

This church is located at the entrance to the town. The interior, which is different from the exterior, is very small and displays panels about the history of this town. It was built around 1470 when Louis XI, who was staying in this area, feared the spread of infectious diseases.

The castle was once a fortress, but was rebuilt by Charles VIII. The garden overlooks the town. Originally, a castle was built all over the garden, but only a portion of it remains today. Inside you can see the furniture and tapestries used by the royal family, and in the second half you can see the luxurious rooms, mainly pink, used by the Orléans family.
