This castle is part of France’s oldest fortress, which was used during the Hundred Years’ War with England. The interior is mainly a recreation of the life of the castle lord, and you can see a tapestry depicting thousands of flowers, floors with detailed decorations, and the dining tables and bedrooms of the aristocrats. In addition, the wedding ceremony of Charles VIII is recreated using mannequins. The gardens are also a highlight, and you can peer into the castle through the windows in the only remaining fortress walls. Although the grounds are not large, there are many things to tickle children’s hearts, such as a secret base in the tree.
