Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire

Time required: 90 min

This fortress was built in the 10th century by King Oud I. It was originally built for military purposes, but after it was destroyed in a fire, it was reborn as an elegant castle by incorporating Renaissance elements. Inside the castle, you can see gorgeous rooms such as the royal rooms and kitchen that recreate the lifestyle of the time. As the garden festival is held here, the garden on the premises is large and has many attractions, and works of art are exhibited here and there. In addition, Hermès horse harnesses and other items are on display in the stables, giving you a glimpse into the elegant lifestyle of the aristocrats. There is also an area like a small village in the back, and you can tour the inside.
